The work of planting churches from Obong Ntak has continued for decades. Through Gospel campaigns, personal evangelism, and continued teaching, local congregations have been established in villages throughout the region.

Each congregation gives believers a community in which to worship, learn from Scripture, grow together, and share the hope of Christ with others.

A Growing Network of Congregations

Today, 51 congregations have been planted through the work centered in Obong Ntak. Each marker on this map represents a community where believers gather for worship, biblical teaching, and Christian fellowship.

A Mission Multiplied Through Christian Education

Dr. Moses Akpanudo began planting congregations before Obong Christian High School was established. The creation of the OCHS Campus Church later gave the work a strong base for expansion.

Christian teachers and students traveled into surrounding communities to sing, preach, visit homes, and teach the Gospel. They also returned to encourage and instruct new believers.

Church planting therefore grew as part of a larger mission in which Christian education helped prepare people to carry the Gospel beyond the campus and into other communities.

Today, faculty and staff from Obong Christian High School and Obong University often lead the initial gospel campaigns, with students also participating in outreach and evangelism.

How a Church Takes Root

Church planting may begin with a request from a community or with ministry leaders exploring a village where there is interest. Evangelists visit, teach in homes and public gatherings, and may conduct a Gospel campaign over several days.

When people respond, the new believers often begin meeting in a home or borrowed space. Teachers and preachers continue encouraging them while the congregation works toward the stability of a permanent place to gather.
