Obong Christian High School

Founded in 1986 by Dr. Moses and Mrs. Jessie Akpanudo, Obong Christian High School provides Christ-centered secondary education for young men and women in Nigeria.

Through strong academics, daily spiritual formation, disciplined student life, and caring mentorship, OCHS helps students prepare for further education, faithful service, and Christian witness.

Christ at the Center of Every Day

Spiritual Formation is Relational and Visual

At Obong Christian High School, spiritual formation is woven into the daily life of the school. Through chapel, Scripture, prayer, Christian Religious Knowledge classes, mentoring by Christian teachers, and devotional rhythms for boarding students, young men and women are encouraged to know Christ and follow Him with integrity.

OCHS emphasizes:

  • Daily worship and devotional rhythms
  • Required Christian Religious Knowledge
  • Scripture, prayer, and chapel gatherings
  • Character formation through Christian mentorship

A Structured Place to
Learn and Grow

OCHS serves both boarding and day students, creating a school environment marked by stability, discipline, Christian care, and meaningful relationships.

For boarding students, life on campus includes devotional rhythms, structured study time, shared responsibilities, guidance from house parents, and fellowship with peers. These daily patterns help students grow not only academically, but also in responsibility, confidence, respect, and Christian character.

Village → OCHS → Village

At the heart of Obong Christian High School is a simple, multiplying vision: students come from places where opportunity is often limited, receive a Christ-centered education, and return home prepared to serve with faith, discipline, and purpose.

Through strong academics, spiritual formation, and daily mentorship, OCHS helps young men and women become a blessing to their families, churches, workplaces, and future neighbors.

This is why OCHS matters. One school can shape a student. One student, formed in Christ, can strengthen many lives.

All Nigeria Youth Forum

Obong Christian High School has helped nurture a generation of young Christians whose faith extends beyond the classroom. One expression of that influence is the All Nigeria Youth Forum, a gathering that brings young people together for worship, Bible teaching, fellowship, and leadership development.

Through this event, students and youth from different regions and backgrounds are encouraged to grow in Christ, build relationships across tribal lines, and return home better prepared to serve their churches and peers.

Highlights Include:

  • Worship assemblies
  • Bible teaching and spiritual encouragement
  • Youth leadership sessions
  • Fellowship across regions and tribes

Faith and Opportunity Together

From the beginning, Obong Christian High School has reflected a vision God placed in the heart of Dr. Moses Akpanudo: young people need both the hope of the Gospel and the opportunity that comes through a strong education.

In Nigeria, secondary education and national examination preparation can open doors to university, professional training, skilled work, and greater stability for families. At OCHS, those opportunities are pursued within a Christ-centered environment where students are also formed in faith, discipline, and service.

This is why OCHS matters far beyond the classroom. A student who is strengthened academically and spiritually can become a blessing to a family, a church, and a future workplace.
